ABOUT US
"Thank you for visiting our page and learning more about Make the Distinction (MTD). MTD was established in 2017 with the intentions for Black teen girls to reflect on what sets them apart from everyone else in this world. We are all different, so own it! We are passionate about empowering our girls to prepare for life after high school. We understand that life can feel like a roller coaster for many teen girls when you add relationship building, self esteem, goal setting, academics, stereotypes, social media and life at home into day to day living. MTD was designed to provide a safe space for Black girls to not only discuss these challenges, but offer support and resources to navigate through them. Personal and professional development also tends to coincide; thus introducing our youth to various career paths will create a sense of autonomy. Serving for a cause greater than ourselves is what makes this program so beneficial because it truly takes a village to raise a child. Our goal is to continue to impact the Philadelphia and Greater Philadelphia community through our girls, so that they will influence others."

Our Vision
Empowering, strengthening, and uniting young Black girls in the Philadelphia area, between the ages of 13-18, entering womanhood with confidence and self-esteem both personally and professionally; so that they can make an impact in their communities.
